About Free PG&E Inspections
PG&E performs free safety inspections of gas appliances. They don’t perform maintenance. Even so, a free inspection from PG&E is better than most cheap tune-ups (explained below).
PG&E has a wide variety of employees. It’s uncommon, but they do make mistakes. Obviously I can’t guarantee you’ll have a great experience with PG&E, but most people do.
Call 800-743-5000 to schedule your PG&E inspection or schedule it online. They call it a “pilot relight service”, but it’s also a safety inspection. (Most central furnaces don’t even have a pilot.)

About My Free Phone Help
The first thing I do when someone calls with a problem is ask questions about the symptoms, the brand of equipment, etc. If we can figure out something out over the phone, we will.
If you’d rather just make the appointment, that’s fine too. Of course I’ll still ask a few questions to make sure I’m a good fit for the work you need.
If you have pictures or video that you think are relevant, you can text them to me at the number above. If you text me, please give me a first name and tell me what city you’re in.
I’m not going to spend all day on the phone of course, but I’ll do what I can. I always have because I don’t like charging people for things they could’ve easily done themselves.

About Cheap Tune-Ups
Don’t fall for offers of cheap HVAC maintenance. This link will take you to a page on my new educational website that explains the problems with those offers. They’re a scam AFAIC!
There’s a lot of good content on this site too, like this page that explains many scams. I’m in the process of moving content from this site to the new site, but both sites are mine.
